Gymnastics NSW offer two scholarships per year for an aspiring young leader to attend The International Academy, (INTAC) at the Academy of Physical Education in Ollerup, Denmark.
The universally recognised International Youth Leader Education (IYLE) Scholarship, is a residential, non-formal education program that gives students the opportunity to engage with some of the brightest young leaders from across the globe.
There are five different gymnastics specialisations to choose from including: Performance Gymnastics, Danish Rhythmical Gymnastics, Team Gym, Power Tumbling and Dance. Students will also participate in theoretical classes focusing on cultural immersion, sports development and health and physical activity promotion.
To be eligible to apply for the scholarship applicants must be:
Aged between 18 - 30
A current Technical Member with Gymnastics Australia/NSW
Actively involved in gymnastics as a Coach / Official. Be able to demonstrate this contribution.
Demonstrate how they will share their experiences with the gymnastics community upon their return.
Able to raise the funds to cover their flight and any additional spending money
The following criteria is desired but not compulsory:
A current or previous member of the Gymnastics Youth Advisory Panel
A current or previous member of the GNSW Performance Team
A current Tumbling, Free G or TeamGym coach or athlete.
Applications will open approximately four to five months prior to an August departure for that year or a January departure the following year.
